My Personal Gardener has provided Atlanta landscaping services for over 15 years. We offer complete landscape maintenance programs. We offer seasonal pruning and one-time clean ups. We specialize in providing the proper maintenance needed to keep your landscape healthy and vibrant.
Proper pruning is an important part of our service. Most of our pruning is done by hand. Most Atlanta landscaping companies are making gas-powered shears their tool of choice. Our tool of choice is Felco #2 hand pruners. We avoid the use of power shears.
We have extensive experience hand pruning Boxwoods. We know how to keep them full, resistant to insects and disease-free. We know the ins and outs of pruning Hydrangeas. Properly timed pruning keeps them healthy and rich with blooms. We have over 1,000 man-hours invested in pruning Azaleas and other popular plants used in Atlanta landscaping. We take great pride in the proven results from our hand pruning.
Our team has well over 100 years combined experience, all in Atlanta landscaping. Our on-site supervisors are English-speaking, knowledgable people. We have decades of experience properly pruning Crape Myrtles and Japanese Maples. We cringe, and even stop to take pictures, when we see Crape Murder. We aren’t afraid to do the winter pruning Roses need to thrive.
We know pruning, and we also know turf grasses. We know the importance of mowing your Fescue lawn at the right height. We know when mowing may do more harm than good. Turf grasses are one of the biggest challenges in Atlanta landscaping. The heavily wooded neighborhoods of Buckhead are a serious challenge for warm season grasses. To thrive, Zoysia and Bermuda grasses need 7 hours or more of sun each day. Fescue, on the other hand, is somewhat shade tolerant. Unfortunately, Fescue is highly susceptible to fungus. Several factors can help reduce the amount of fungicide needed to maintain Fescue lawns, and we employ them all. We strongly believe that over-use of fungicides and other chemicals is a serious problem in Atlanta landscaping. We love our kids and pets.
Weather is an ongoing challenge in Atlanta landscaping. We have managed through years of extreme drought. We had clearly defined plans for dealing with 100+ degree weather. We know what to do, and what not to do, when snow and ice blanket Atlanta. Hands-on, real-life experience has benefits. Inexperience can be costly.
